Breakaway to some quiet places for meditation is good for one's soul. Just to be alone to reflect on life is healing in itself.

This blog is about real life stories of people who have gone through the trauma of cancer, either by suffering themselves or having to see their loved ones fade away. What this blog is not about: it is not seeking for simple answers; it seeks honest experiences of people from various backgrounds and countries, believers or non believers.

Having a look at others'stories makes things a better for the mere fact that I can relate to some of their emotions and experiences. It s always great to share life experiences to help one another push through the roughest patch.
I would like to thank you for writing because there is healing in sharing. We loved your wife so dearly but as a family we went through hell. We had to forgive a lot of people who were so hard and did not share our feelings. We just saw her getting far away from us in the process to get closer to her God. I want to share a little of tradition in africa. It is tradition that a body of the passed is well taken care of and washed before buried. And in fact this is a great help for the mourning process! I visited her in the mortuary and there she looked like somebody who was just sleeping. She was dressed in a white jersey, white socks and her hands folded across her breast. I bid her goodbye in silence. At a later stage I will share other feelings because I see this blog as a place where family members can share their feelings to heal somebody else. Eva Schimming.
